Highlights

  • Amendment 1, seeking to adjust election procedures is read for the first time. It would move the general election to spring and the run-off election to fall. The amendment was read for the first time. Amendments need to be read twice before being voted on by the Senate. This amendment missed the cutoff and will not appear on this year’s ballot.
  • Firebird Club seeks to aid student projects by providing resources.

Senate Meeting 02/20/2019

Highlights

  • Underutilized budgets, totaling $8532, from Student Hackers At Poly (SHAPE), Variety Gaming Tournament (VGT, defunct) have been reallocated to the student organization travel line item. American Society Mechanical Engineers (ASME) is not included.
  • If a club raises more than 100 non perishable items for the Club Canned Food Drive, the club that raises the most non perishables will get a food party financed by the Senate.
  • The Audit and Budget Committee requested $160 for food for 4 meetings. The allocation is approved by the Senate.

Senate Meeting 01/30/2019

Highlights

  • New storage container and leasing is allocated $5000.
  • Isabel Zimmerman’s appointment to Sustainability Committee Chair is approved.
  • Robert Acacio’s appointment to Elections Committee Chair is approved.
  • One Poly Against Cancer’s club approval is tabled for further research.
  • The Audit and Budget Committee has only $1800 left in travel funds. They are planning to source an additional $10000 from RSO budgets.
  • Amendment 2, seeking to allocate senators proportionately by college, passes the senate.
  • Amendment 3, seeking to shorten the time in which amendments take effect, does not pass the senate.
  • Amendment 4, seeking to correct the requirements of becoming a justice to reflect curriculum changes, passes the senate.
