An up and coming student publication, Layers Media, seeks to provide a deeper and more informative news experience to the students of Florida Polytechnic University.

Layers Media’s Icon

The publication’s target audience is the students of Florida Polytechnic University. It aims to cover relevant past and upcoming events with a newspaper like style of writing.

Unlike a traditional publication, Layers lacks a set publishing schedule. “I love the newspaper style but the periodical format isn’t suited for the digital age” said Jason Chua, Editor in Chief at Layers. Articles will be made “[A]s frequently as the news comes.”

“This isn’t a resume filler or a LinkedIn project.”

Layers media at the time of writing is a one person operation with Chua following every story from news gathering, to writing, to publishing. “It’s a passion project for me. This isn’t a resume filler or a LinkedIn project.”

“… Something that can inspire many people.”

“One day I hope to see this [Layers Media] as more than just a passion project for one person,” Chua said. “I hope to see it become something that can inspire many people.”
